Many homeschool tutorials combine aspects of both homeschooling and traditional classroom instruction. Students attend classes on a part-time basis, with the remainder of their education being parent-guided at home.
Dwell Homeschool Academy has been designed to provide students with a flexible and personalized Christ-focused education, while also offering opportunities for socialization and collaboration with their peers. What makes us different from other programs is that we offer grade-level classes two days per week, led by trained educators to further support your parent-led education at home.
Dwell Homeschool Academy is a Christian tutorial program that supports parents as the primary educators of their children. We provide a flexible, structured learning environment that fosters collaboration and personalized attention. Our goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning and a sense of belonging in each unique student through community and guidance.
Our program is driven by our faith and our commitment to creating a collaborative and community-oriented learning environment for our students. We strive to instill a love of learning and promote personal growth through our personalized approach to education. By building strong relationships with our families and students, we aim to provide a healthy and supportive homeschooling experience that fosters academic excellence and personal development.
* Our definitive curriculum information will be released early summer.
Five-day lesson plans are provided monthly and we prioritize Biblically-based content as often as possible.
Our curriculum covers five core subjects- Bible, Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. We are also in the process of developing weekly/monthly extracurricular events that students can attend if they choose. These events will offer exposure to areas such as STEM, Art, Music, and Community Service opportunities.
We partner with parents every step of the way and uphold them as the primary educators. Our staff are trained and encouraged to be ministry-minded as they create ongoing relationships with your students. We also encourage the students to work collaboratively whenever possible in the spirit of 1 Thessalonians 5:11.
Classes are held two days on campus and three days at home every week, with ‘light Fridays’ that are intended to offer more flexibility. All grade levels, Preschool to Junior High, attend classes on campus on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30am to 2:30pm.
The lesson plans provided with the curriculum are pre-paced and offer flexibility for parents to customize their home teaching methods to best suit their family and their schedule. We want you to take the lead in educating your students! It is our hope and our goal to develop a partnership between parents and teachers, where parents have the ability to make the best choices for their individual families while maintaining a structured and consistent schedule on campus for their students.
One of our fundamental goals is to establish a genuine sense of community amongst our families, teachers, and faculty that spreads beyond the walls of our school building. We have found that fun, interactive events provide excellent opportunities for connection outside of daily classroom activities.
Each year we seek to organize various events that parents and students are welcome to participate in. The most notable are our monthly chapel services where parents and students can worship in community with each other. This is also our time for teachers to recognize the outstanding traits and conduct of their students through Character Awards.
Along with field trips, creative contests, and class parties, we host on-campus special events such as Maker’s Markets, where students are able to create and display their creative works in a craft fair style setting.
We are also in the process of establishing a schedule of extracurricular activities, held on campus, that students can choose to participate in that will operate outside of the normal school day. The areas that may be offered include STEM, Art, Music, Community Service events, and sporting activities.
